I come to Cafe Turko every few months, and am never left disappointed with the food or service! My personal favorites are the manti and any of the pide. I even took my mom here (who only enjoys eating Pakistani food) and she was a huge fan. We got the seven spice fries, grilled chicken pide, and Ali Nazik with chicken. The waitress was very friendly and attentive, despite it being a busy night. The restaurant owners also did a wonderful job of creating a quiet prayer area, so I never have to worry about missing prayer when I'm there :)
I adore this spot! We started with the beet hummus with warm pita bread and it's a must try. My friend and I both ordered the lamb kebab dish and it was on point. The lamb was so juicy and mouth-watering with so much flavor. The food is truly authentic Antep cuisine, which is a specific region in Turkiye that is known to have the best food. The service was prompt and excellent. There's such a vibrant and warm ambiance, my friend and I loved our experience!
Food... service and ambience were just amazing. Our waiter was even more stupendous. He said his recommendations and told that food would taste delightful. And he was right. I've been trying to share this cafe with all my family and friends who are visiting Seattle. I hope they also have the same if not better experience than me.
Nicely located next to the Salesforce/Tableau office by the Fremont Troll. Walking distance to lake view and the Fremont bridge. Great selection of appetizers and desserts. Food is standard Mediterranean. Could be crowded sometimes, make sure to make a reservation.
The food was good. At initial look it seems pricey but when you consider the amount of time/ seasoning and prep that goes into this cuisine it is average priced. The ambience is so unique really feels like you have been transported into a different world. They weren't that busy but it took so long for us to be able to get our check and order. This is the lamb Beyti Kebab. I like that the wrapping was very thin, not doughy, and crispy and soft at some parts. The lamb itself was a little dry. Wish there was more salad or veges inside the kebab for a well rounded flavor and texture profile as it was very much carnivorous and meaty. Shared this plate between two people and was fairly filling but I don't think I could eat the whole thing because the flavor was fairly one tone/would get bored of it. They did have other dishes that looked good as we saw them brought out to other tables like their wraps so I might try those next time.
phenomenal experience! went with a group of colleagues ahead of an evening event in the area. we had vegetarians, lamb-crazy folk and everyone in between in our party; no one left hungry or dissatisfied. we had three starters to share: yam hummus kefir cheese with za'taar muhammara all were amazing and the pita was warm and plentiful. when it came to entrees. i barely had room but i couldn't resist trying the felafel salad which was the perfect size and had great flavors. it was super fresh and had a great combination of ingredients in a lovely pomegranate molasses vinaigrette. others decided to try different salads or entrees but we left commenting how delicious the food was; so delicious that everything put in front of us got eaten too quickly to remember to take photos. i already want to go back! it was definitely a popular fremont dinner destination on a friday night. kids, couples, groups and the wait staff handled everyone with kindness and patience. i don't live in the area but it won't be the last time i eat there. it's a great atmosphere, lots to choose from on the menu and friendly servers. there's also an assortment of turkish sweets and ingredients for purchase!
Super delicious and vibey cafe up in Fremont! I love love the mezze dips they had. They are so bright and colorful, and each one is a unique flavor. They have a few options and each one has 5 - 6 dips to share. The main course I had was good, but I was mainly impressed by the appetizer dips. I don't think I would go back for the mains, but would just go to sit, have a coffee or sweet treat, and some dips to share! The ambiance is really vibrant and colorful. This is definitely a fun spot to share with friends!
It's been five years since I visited this restaurant and I can't say enough about this place in Fremont. The atmosphere while eating here is quite lovely. The interior design makes me want to look around and be at awe with the colors, glass, and umbrellas. The food tasted wonderful as I remembered. This round, I wanted to try out one entree through a fellow yelper's review: Falafel My Way Plate and one pida entree, which my friend and I decided to go with Karışık pide (which contain a good amount of meat). To go along with our food, we ordered Arnold in Türkiye, which is half lemonade, half Turkish black tea. The drink was quite refreshing as it was not too sweet and goes along with the carb-focused entrees. The Falafel My Way Plate is a type of dish where all different food component combined makes every bite really enjoyable. Make sure to grab a little bit of rice, a bit of crispy falafel bonbon with hummus, and veggies on your spoon. The pide was great choice too with the amount of meat and cheese for two people. Also, the crust is thin enough to consume as well! Through catching up with my friend and when the food arrived at our table, I felt like it didn't take that long. Seeing everyone being helped around us shows the good service, especially during dinner time. If you're ever in the area, definitely stop by here and go explore around this area afterwards!
Price: $$, ~$50 for two Favorites: Beef beyti, aromatic lamb Tip: Ask for hot sauce, it goes well with spice! The food and experience here are simply magical. Walking past an actual piece of the Berlin Wall into an elegant space, complete with ornate umbrellas cascading from the ceiling, sets the scene for an appetizing adventure into warm, soulful Turkish cuisine. The staff was kind, pointing out recommendations and clarifying how things would taste. My friend was visiting from Hawaii and neither of us had tried Turkish food. I'm glad we could share a comforting foray into delectable entrees that left us content. The beyti is rightfully famous. The lavash wraps with tender doner meat and gooey cheese are delightful finger food. Adding a dip into spicy and yogurt sauces only heightens the already tantalizing flavors. But the star for me was the aromatic lamb, with its sweet apricots that beautifully offset the rich spices and nuts. Lamb is my favorite protein across many cuisines and that continues to be the case after my first foray into Turkish food. Fremont is a museum of cultural delicacies and Café Turko paints a delicious part of the mosaic.
